Creating A Place to Keep Your Stuff

  1. Create a folder and name it with your group topic and first number of your class period
    1. Example: My group topic is daily life.  I am in 3-4 period.  The name of my folder is ÒLife3Ó
  2. As your group collects images and builds your webpage using Dreamweaver, ALL images and your index page will go in this folder

 

 

Creating A WebPage Using Dreamweaver

  1. Open Dreamweaver and click on Ònew HTMLÓ
  2. Go to your article in Microsoft Word and copy and paste the TEXT from Word into the new Dreamweaver page.
  3. Go to ÒFileÓ in the menu bar and choose ÒSave As.Ó  Make sure that you are saving this page in your group folder. SAVE your Dreamweaver page with the name Òindex.htmlÓ
  4. Copy and paste in the rest of the group articles and play around with size, color, and layout
  5. Be sure to SAVE your work frequently!

 

Adding Images to Your Dreamweaver Page

  1. When you have found an image that you want to use, DRAG it from the internet to your desktop.  The image should appear on your desktop with the file name ending in Ò.gifÓ or Ò.jpgÓ.
  2. Put this image into your group folder.
  3. Open your Dreamweaver index page.
  4. Click on the page where you want your image to be
  5. Go to the menu bar and click on ÒInsertÓ.  The click on ÒimageÓ
  6. Choose the image that you want to insert.
  7. Play around with layout and size of the image.
  8. Be sure to SAVE your work frequently!

 

When Your Group is Done With Your WebPage

  1. Save EVERYTHING and make sure that your group folder has all of the images that you used for your page and has your group index page.
  2. Click on your folder, then in the apple menu, choose File, and create archive of ÒLife3.Ó 
  3. Go to ÒGoÓ in the finder and connect to the ÒPublicÓ server.
  4. Double click on ÒFacultyÓ.
  5. Double click on Òcjacobs2Ó.
  6. DRAG your archived life3 folder to the drop box in Ms. JacobÕs public area.

 

CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE A WEBPAGE!!
